Old REDUCE packages
Packages for REDUCE 3.6 (or earlier)
Download old packages that I have written, or to which I
have contributed.
Packages are organized into directories, each of which may contain REDUCE
source (.red) and test (.tst) files, LATEX documentation
(.tex) files and plain text (.txt) files. Some directories contain a
README file that may be automatically displayed at the bottom of the
directory listing. Some of these packages are also available from other
servers.
The CATFACT Project:
Computer Algebra Tools For Applications of Catastrophe
Theory
This was a collaboration with Robert G. Cowell in the late 1980s. For
further details, search my publications
list for Cowell as co-author.
The original code was written by Robert Cowell, although I made some
revisions to part of the package in January 1993. Since then I have not
looked at it, and despite the comments in some of the files I have no real
intention of working on this package in the foreseeable future. I am
making the CATFACT files available "as-is" to
anyone who might find them useful. They were written for versions (3.4 and
earlier) of REDUCE that are no longer available, and they are neither supported nor maintained. The files
are either plain text files or compressed tar files containing plain text files
(compressed with the UNIX compress program, but they can be uncompressed using
the GNU gzip program). Beware that some of the text files may use
the Microsoft CRLF line ending convention.
